Golf in King City

King City is a city in Monterey County in the Salinas Valley, south of Salinas and north of the San Luis Obispo County line. The city occupies the Salinas Valley floor at roughly 330 feet elevation, where agricultural production is the dominant economic activity. Monterey County's Salinas Valley is one of California's most productive agricultural regions, and the southern portion where King City sits produces lettuce, broccoli, wine grapes, and other crops. The city serves as the main commercial center for the southern Salinas Valley and provides services for surrounding agricultural communities. US Highway 101 passes through the city, providing the main north-south connection through this section of the valley. The Salinas River runs along the valley floor. King City has a small downtown and has grown modestly with agricultural workforce housing and some commercial expansion.
