Golf in McKinleyville

McKinleyville is a large unincorporated community in Humboldt County, north of Arcata along the Pacific coast and US Highway 101. The community occupies flat coastal terrace land above the bay, in a zone of pasture and residential development representing one of the more suburban portions of Humboldt County. McKinleyville has grown over decades as a residential area for people working in Arcata, Eureka, and the surrounding county. The Humboldt County Airport, the county's main commercial airport, is located in McKinleyville and provides connections to San Francisco and Portland. Community services and retail are spread along the Central Avenue corridor. The redwood forests characteristic of inland Humboldt County give way to coast prairie and pastureland in the McKinleyville coastal zone. US Highway 101 provides the main north-south connection and access to the broader North Coast region.
