Golf in Trona

Trona is a small community in San Bernardino County in the Mojave Desert, in the Searles Valley between the Slate Range and the Argus Range. The community sits at roughly 1,700 feet elevation in an isolated desert valley, where the Searles Lake dry lake bed occupies the valley floor. Trona is associated with mineral extraction operations at Searles Lake, where borax, trona, and other minerals have been processed. San Bernardino County's most remote communities include Trona, which has a small permanent population connected primarily to the mining operations in the valley. State Route 178 provides the main access, connecting Trona north to Ridgecrest. The surrounding terrain is desert mountain range and dry lake bed, with the Panamint Range and Death Valley area accessible to the north.
